Well, it’s finally here, it’s British Pie Week and here at the British Pie Association are very excited as we embark upon a what we see as the New Pie Year. Traditionally British Pie Week is held the first full week in March each year, officially since 2007 as a marketing campaign by Jus-Rol, and it’s celebration is growing in popularity in line with the ever increasing diversification of recipes that make up a vastly widened choice of great British Pies.
If you’d like to get more involved then why not:
Visit The Great British Pie Awards held in Melton Mowbray on Saturday the 7th March. Go-Leicestershire has lots of information if you would like to visit the event.
Take a look at the Jus-Rol website where you can enter a competition to win £5,000 by submitting a picture of your home made pie and recipe.
Take a look at our Pie Map and visit one of the Restaurants, Pubs or Bakeries and try a pie for yourself.
Make a pie at home for family or friends and have a ‘pie night’, you take a few pictures and send them into us along with your recipes (if you want to share of course) and we’ll publish them on our site. We may even make up your recipe and give you an online review.
Whatever you decide, we hope you have a wonderful week of pies and celebrate in style.
Happy British Pie Week, from all of us at the British Pie Association.
